When drinking Coca-Cola, people made the choice to consume a cool, refreshing
beverage to help them relax. This can occur during a filling meal, a fun party, or when meeting up with friends, and yet the end result is always the same, a sense of relief and happiness. The goal for this project that I did for my Concept and Storyboarding class was to bring that feeling of calmness to mind when thinking about buying their products. This sensation is often associated with various beverages such as a warm coffee in the morning, a cup of tea in the evening, or a beer after a hard day’s work, and the same can occur with sodas like Coca-Cola when wanting something cold and sweet to drink. The approach in this piece would be expressing that tranquility with imagery and verbiage often associated with relaxation.

Phrases often associated with relaxing include “Keep Cool”, “Wake Up and Smell the
Roses”, “A Walk in the Park”, and “My Cup of Tea”. These phrases would be represented
graphically through a series of visual vignettes, transitioning from one another, each with
imagery involving Coca Cola products. For instance, when the scene says “Keep Cool”, there would be the visual of a ceiling fan, where the fans are bottles of Coca-Cola and the words would form the fixture. This would transition to another scene representing “a walk in the park” that has the pavement as a wrapper from a bottle.
